Introduction to FuranFlex®
FuranFlex® is a revolutionary chimney lining system which uses a glass fibre reinforced thermosetting resin to line chimneys.
Applications of FuranFlex®…
Along with Commercial Flue Systems , FuranFlex is commonly used in listed buildings to bring large open fires back into use without having to alter the size of the fire opening or install chimney fans.
Chemical Cabinet Ducts
It is also used to reline chemical cabinet ducts, avoiding the need to open up walls to replace ductwork.
Maximizing Chimney Efficiency
FuranFlex® can also be used to line existing chimneys to maximise the cross sectional area of the chimney and allow condensing and high efficiency appliances to be fitted.
Versatility in Chimney Systems
It can also be used on positive pressure chimneys and to line Inglenook fireplaces where it might not be possible for the chimney characteristics to be altered.
Resolving Challenges with FuranFlex®
A1 Flue Systems offer a full range of lining solutions and investigatory works for ducts and chimneys including CCTV surveys, plotting of chimneys/ducts, pressure testing (manual and mechanical) and smoke testing.
Many problems have been resolved with the FuranFlex® System, from condensates seeping through walls, to ensuring cross sectional areas being maintained to ensure safe and efficient draught on ducts and chimneys.
The FuranFlex Lining System is a glass fibre reinforced thermosetting resin, ideal for use in chimneys (condensing and dry) for all fuels, SE and U ducts, ventilation ducts, kitchen extract ducts, rain water pipes and drains.
FuranFlex will mould to the shape of the existing chimney or duct and as it is only 2.5mm thick therefore not substantially reducing the cross sectional area of the chimney or duct.
FuranFlex is also 100% condensate proof, FuranFlex has been widely used in 27 European countries for the last 10 years, with over 2 million metres installed.
FuranFlex has been installed over 4000 metres in sizes ranging from 50mm diameter to 1000mm diameter and in lengths from 5 metres to 100 metres.
Most installations are complete in one day with minimal disruption and are ready to use when we leave the site.

WHAT IS FURANFLEX25 BLACK?
Overview
FuranFlex25 Black is the only method by which chimneys of any shape, dimension and length can be lined with joint-free airtight liner of steel hardness composite material that is resistant to corrosion, flames and heat. FuranFlex25 Black is a Glass Fibre Reinforced Thermosetting Resin lining and is suitable for gas and oil heating applications.
The liner is installed into the chimney as a flat flexible hose, inflated with air at only 0.2Bar minimising any stress on the existing structure. The liner is then “steamed”, this process begins a reaction in the resin and once the resin reaches 100° Celsius it sets as hard as steel. Once this reaction has taken place the liner is cured and ready to use.
FuranFlex25 Black has been tested by many leading European accredited testing houses including BSRIA in the UK and is CE approved. FuranFlex25 Black gives a highly corrosion resistant lining, totally waterproof and gas tight and tested to 400° Celsius. FuranFlex25 Black linings have been used for over 12 years in 27 European Countries and well over 3,000,000 metres have been successfully installed with over 12,000 metres successfully installed in the UK over the last 24 months.
Only Kompozit’all UK factory trained and accredited engineers are allowed to install FuranFlex25 Black to ensure high standards of installation are maintained. FuranFlex25 Black is only 2.5mm thick and can be installed freestanding inside the chimney/duct or pipe. It can also be installed to mould to take the shape of the existing chimney/duct or pipe to maximise the cross sectional area of the chimney. This reduces the need to fit boost fans or chimney fans saving time, money and maintenance costs.
FuranFlex25 Black is available in diameters from 50mm to in excess of 1000mm and in one-piece lengths up to 100 metres. FuranFlex25 Black linings are usually installed in one day and the appliances can be used immediately after the lining is “cured”.

Overview
FuranFlex25 RWV has been specially developed to cater for solid fuel appliances and solid fuel open fires. FuranFlex25 RWV is suitable for all DFE type gas fires and has been tested to 1000°C. FuranFlex25 RWV has been tested by many European Test Houses and by BSRIA and is certified by BBA in the UK.
FuranFlex25 RWV is the only composite flue lining to have been tested and approved to the relevant British Standards and be listed by HETAS. FuranFlex25 RWV has been used on many listed properties and thatched properties to bring chimneys safely back into use. The liner is installed into the flue as a flat flexible hose, inflated with air at only 0.1 – 0.2 Bar reducing any stress on the existing structure. The liner is then “steamed”, this process begins a reaction in the resin and once the resin reaches 100° Celsius it sets as hard as steel. Once this reaction has taken place the liner is cured and ready to use. FuranFlex RWV flue linings have been used for many years in 27 European Countries and over 2,000 metres have been successfully installed in the UK over the last 24 months. Only Kompozit’allUK factory trained and accredited engineers are allowed to install FuranFlex25 RWV to ensure high standards of installation are maintained.
FuranFlex25 RWV is less than 4.5mm thick and can be installed freestanding inside the chimney or as the lining it can mould to take the shape of the existing flue to maximise the cross-sectional area of the flue, reducing the need to fit fans, saving time, money and maintenance costs.
FuranFlex25 RWV is available in diameters from 80mm to 1000mm and in one-piece lengths up to 80 metres long.
FuranFlex25 RWV flue linings are usually installed in one day and the appliances can be commissioned immediately after the lining is “cured”.
