A1 Flues Gears Up For Growth

A1 Flue Systems has made a raft of appointments as we gear up for growth in 2020.

We have made a number of appointments to bolster our manufacturing, estimating and installations teams - as we look to secure more projects for office blocks, hotels, schools, public buildings and other tall structures that need flues and chimneys to connect to heating and hot water systems.

Joanne Smith has joined to head up our estimating department, which produces initial designs and costs for projects. Kirsten Richardson and Charlotte Lound have also joined our estimating team.

Paul Robinson is a new starter in our manufacturing team.

Completing the appointments, Andrea Evans has joined the accounts department.

Our Managing Director John Hamnett said that we are keen to bring people in to join the growing team, not just to cope with current demand, but also to strengthen our capabilities as we look to the opportunities that we believe Brexit will present.

“We’re looking beyond what we need as a business in the next few months because we believe the UK leaving the EU will present plenty of opportunities for us as a British manufacturer of bespoke systems – especially as a lot of our competitors use components brought in from Europe.

“Sticking to our principles of being a British manufacturer of high-quality flue and chimney systems has enabled us to develop a strong market share in the specific sector of the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) industry. We are confident that we will continue to grow our marketshare because the level of our expertise is unparalleled in the UK.”

We have impressive portfolio of high-profile projects such as the Houses of Parliament and The Shard, The O2 Arena and the Emirates stadium. Within the last 12 months alone, we have completed a multi-million pound contract to manufacture nine British-made 100-metre tall chimney systems to be installed inside two of the four iconic chimneys at Battersea Power Station in London. We have also secured a multi-million euro contract to design, manufacture and install flue and chimney systems for a new children’s hospital that is under construction in Dublin.
